School For Freelancers
Do you have a yearning to be a business owner or entrepreneur but you are not the CEO or visionary type? Do you have a creative edge that has paid you well in your career over the years? Do you have a solid portfolio of clients you have worked with at an agency but no longer want to work for said agency?
Here at School For Startups, we have built our curriculum and content around the idea that our students want to build businesses that provide them with the freedom they desire, the income to support themselves and their families, and want to build a business that allows the same for others.
In working with some of our students we began to hear a similar story from several of them. They were more creative types, they did not really have a desire to work for someone, but they also did not want to be responsible for employing someone.
They were photographers, graphic designers, copywriters, and creatives of all types and they wanted the freedom that comes with owning their own business but did not necessarily want to build an agency and employ dozens of people.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to take this approach, as a matter of fact, knowing this about yourself before you start to build a business can save you so much time, money, and energy.
Imagine, if you built a business even though something was telling you it was not right, you then hired your first employee and just a few months in realized that your gut was right all along and you would rather just work for yourself, as a freelancer.
Now you have to let your employee go, rebrand, redesign your business, and basically start from scratch.
We wanted to help those that would rather pursue a career in freelance so we decided to launch the School For Freelancers. The School For Freelancers follows the same principles that we follow here at School For Startups, but instead of building a business that employes people, has a sales team, an HR department, a marketing department, and everything else we help freelancers structure their business in a way that makes sense for them.
There are many things you must consider if you would rather take the freelance career path vs the CEO career path and it is best to figure that out early to avoid a lot of headaches.
If you are the creative type that would love to earn a living making films, taking pictures, writing, or in any creative field we have built a curriculum just for you. In our extensive online course series, we cover everything including how to legally structure your business, how to manage your accounting, building a personal brand, how to network like a pro, how to set up your website, email marketing, content creation, SEO, PPC, sales and so much more.
Just like building a small business, building a freelance business can seem like a non-stop to-do list and a mountain standing right before you. We want nothing more than to remove the barriers that keep you from taking those first steps and walking you along that path until you have your first customer and beyond.
Much like the School For Startups approach, we have course modules, downloadable worksheets, tons of resources, and an online community all to help guide you along your journey to full-time freelancing. They have also put together some of the best freelance resources you will be able to find anywhere.
Whether you are just getting started or have been playing the freelance game for years, our program will help get you started, unstuck, and taken to the next level in our freelance career.
We have taken our core principles and applied them to the world of freelance and we could not be more excited to share this with you. Feel free to apply at any time and we will be in touch when the next cohort launches.
