3 Mindset Tips For Entrepreneurs And The Books You’ll Need

3 Ways to Set Your Entrepreneurial Mindset for 2022 and the books you will need to help make it happen.

Reading is fundamental and never has that been more true than when you’re entrepreneurially minded. A lot has been said about the power of reading, especially for entrepreneurs.

So with that in mind we thought it would be a great idea to share 3 things you should be focused on as an entrepreneur and the books that can help you make it happen.

Here are three ways to get your mind right and be successful in the coming years and the books we recommend to be the catalyst for your development as a business owner.

1. Stay Focused On Your Goals

It’s easy to get side-tracked when you’re an entrepreneur, but it’s important to stay focused on your goals. Make a list of what you want to achieve in the next year and keep track of your progress. This will help you stay motivated and on track.

The Power Of Focus

A few months ago I read a book called The Power of Focus: How To Hit Your Business, Personal & Financial Targets With Absolute Certainty by Jack Canfield because I wanted to know how successful people stay on track.

After reading, I’ve been able to plan my future workflows much better and get so much more done each day. Books like these stress the importance of focus and how critical it is that you can turn off distractions and sit down to get the deep work done. This leads me to the next book on the list, which you have heard us mention before.

Deep Work

In the book Deep Work by Cal Newport, he emphasizes the crucial need to ‘Be Fully Engaged’ in any activity that is worthwhile. For entrepreneurs, this means realizing that performing at your best requires you to be fully invested in what you are doing right now.

This may seem obvious but it’s important to realize that this includes your downtime as well. I see many entrepreneur friends who tell me they would love to find more time for reading business books/newspapers/entrepreneur magazines but never do because they are too busy watching TV or scrolling through social media channels instead.

Get into the habit of not allowing yourself downtime until you’ve worked hard on something relevant first.

The deep work mindset will involve ignoring distractions and focusing on one task at a time without interruption.

2. Get Organized

As an entrepreneur, your time is one of your most precious assets. And if you’re not organized, it can be wasted very quickly. Taking the time to get your ducks in a row can help you know what to focus on rather than constantly reacting to your inbox and putting out fires.

With so much going on, it can be hard to stay on top of your responsibilities and daily tasks. Getting organized and building systems around your work is one of the best ways to avoid overwhelm and get more done in less time.

These two books will help you do just that!

Getting Things Done

In his book Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity, David Allen teaches individuals how to rid themselves of anxiety and stress by implementing a “do it, delegate it, defer it” system for completing tasks.

David Allen’s system has been used by millions of people and is something we have been implementing at School For Startups for years. The system absolutely works and is absolutely critical if anyone wants to, well, get things done.

If you want to be a rock star entrepreneur in 2022, then you need to read at least one of these books! They will help you get your mindset right so that you can hit your targets with certainty.

Traction

In the book Traction: Get A Grip On Your Business, author Gino Wickman discusses the 22 ESSENTIALS needed for any business to get and stay on track. Of these 22 essentials, mindset is key. Without the proper mindset, it will be difficult to achieve any level of success, regardless of how well you execute the other essentials.

One way to set your entrepreneur mindset for 2022 is by focusing on traction. Traction is defined as “the ability of a company to get its products or services in front of customers and keep them coming back.” In order to achieve traction, you must have a clear vision, a solid strategy, and the stamina to see it through.

3. Make A Plan

As an entrepreneur is not always easy, but it’s important to stay positive. When things don’t go your way, find the silver lining and learn from your mistakes. This will help you stay motivated and achieve your goals.

These are just a few ways to set your entrepreneurial mindset for 2022. Follow these tips and you’ll be on your way to success!

Designing Your Life

In the book Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, you’ll learn how to design a life that’s truly your own. I can’t recommend this book enough for anyone who is looking to change the course of their life.

In particular, a section titled “Designing Your Company” offers insights on how you should think about building your company as an entrepreneur. An amazing book that should be required reading for entrepreneurs at any stage of their career.

Living Forward

Living Forward: A Proven Plan to Stop Drifting and Get the Life You Want by Daniel Harkavy is a fantastic read if you feel like you and/or your business need to get organized so that you stop wasting time and make real progress in 2022.

Daniel Harkavy will convince you to take an honest inventory of your life and business so that you can begin to move forward in a positive way. Living Forward is filled with easy-to-understand templates and step-by-step exercises so you can get moving today!
